When you study with us we want you to enjoy the city as much as you do the school which is why we offer a great mix of activities so that you can maximise your time in Medellin and really immerse yourself whilst you are here. Below is a selection of the more common experiences that our students love to enjoy but Medellin offers many other fantastic things to do if there is anything not listed we can help you get that arranged too.
WELCOME LUNCH
Every Monday we invite new students to a set menu lunch close to the school so that they can can to know each other, learn more about the staff and teachers and of course practice their listening and speaking skills.
COMUNA 13 & GRAFFITI TOUR
Go ahead and check out this amazing barrio experience that will take you through the graffiti walls of one of the most representative communities in Colombia. Comuna 13 shows the friendly face of the Paisa and the expressions of young local artists who have been witness to both the violent history and amazing changes this community has undergone. We do this tour ourselves so unlike many other schools students only pay basic transport costs. The main guide is our teacher Elizabeth as she grew up in the area and has some fascinating stories to share. Not one to miss.
CITY CENTRE WALKING TOUR
We take you on a walking tour of Medellin city centre (El Centro) where you will learn about the history and growth of Colombia’s second city. You will visit parks, historic buildings and of course see the work of Botero, one of Colombia’s most famous artists.
VOLUNTEERING
We give our students the opportunity to do a little something for the poorer communities here in Medellin and we are proud to say that we donate clothes, games and food to young children across the city every year. Opportunities are limited but if it is something you are interested in let us know and we can try an arrange something for you.
SALSA LESSONS
Learn to salsa like a latino/a! We have partnered with Dance Free the largest dance school in Poblado. We offer everyone a free lesson and then discounted rates should they decide to continue. of Colombia’s most famous artists.
FRUIT MARKET TOUR
This tour is meant for those whom want to enjoy the wide variety of fruits and vegetables and other traditional ingredients that the Colombia has to offer. A great experience for those who wish to get a closer interaction with local customs, tradition and habits. Another in house activity so again you only pay for the transport costs plus any delicious fruit you want to buy!
